A Weasel Story - The Fables of Thelius Dharyan

A Weasel Story – The Fables of Thelius Dharyan by Daniel Arrhakis (2021)

A new Series with the Fables of Thelius Dharyan.

Once upon a time there was an old mansion where an old lady lived alone and without children, who had only the wind that whistles through the old oak doors and a family of weasels for company.

Yes, a cheeky weasel family that, fleeing a big storm, had taken refuge in the old house. Although stealthy and slender, their presence did not go unnoticed by the old countess, who pretended not to know about her new guests.
If she was initially very uncomfortable with the fact, with time the bold intrusion became a change that broke the monotony of her long days.
And if they were long, they seemed endless like raindrops on those cold winter days full of old memories locked in objects and old frames that seemed to murmur whenever their eyes passed for a long time.
Silence had also been installed in the old mansion, he was an old guest of hers but whose presence became more insidious and suffocating over the years.
That group of weasels was an outburst among friends, it was a smile in a child’s play that she no longer remembered, or that she had long since forgotten.
But if you think that the story ends here, you are mistaken, that the weasels had not been their first daring guests, a small and shy little white mouse was already occupying the most hidden corners of the house.
She called him Don Sebastian because she saw him for the first time on a cold foggy morning like the legend of the Portuguese King Sebastian who, after his disappearance at the battle of Alcácer Quibir, in North Africa, fed the myth that he would return on a foggy morning, to liberate and save the country.
As in the history of his country, Sebastian did not save her, but kept his company in exchange for her irresistible pieces of cheese with which she graced him every day.
